Membership
Create programs to recruit
new members, reclaim former members and retain current members. Shall evaluate all membership applications.
Scholarship
Implement and update
scholarship programs for
area college students.
Media Monitoring
Monitor local and national media for discrimination and other injustices in coverage of members of the African diaspora.
Constitution and Operating Procedures
Consider any proposed amendments to the TABJ constitution and operating procedures suggested
by any full member.
Fundraising
Create events and activities to increase funds for scholarships and chapter expenses.
Full Member $40
Full-time journalists, including reporters, editors, photographers, newsroom managers,
full-time freelancers and others who produce, gather, disseminate and distribute news
or manage such.
Associate Member $25
Former full-time journalists, part-time freelancers, journalism professors, public relations experts, authors and other media related professionals.
Student Member $12.50
Full-time student at an accredited
college or university.
Concentration must be in communications.
TABJ meets every second Tuesday at a media outlet in Raleigh or Durham.
